My favorite hot dog stand.

I want to let everyone know about my favorite Hot dog stand. If you have been there you will know what I am talking about, if you have not been there then you don’t know what your missing.

Gene’s and Jude’s is located at 2720 River Rd in River Grove, IL. As you can see in the picture below, Gene’s and Jude’s is a very small place that has no seats inside and can be seen from some distance because of the bright yellow lights.

What makes Gene’s and Jude’s so special? Well it’s not the appearance of the store or the rough looking people behind the counter and it’s definitely not the fact that you are forced to eat in your car or stand at a counter inside.

I think it’s the steamed buns and hot dogs that are made Chicago style. Did I mention that they are topped with a handful of greasy “fresh cut” fries that are cooked in lard. I always get the “double dog”. That’s two hot dogs on one bun and they are topped with those healthy fries. I have a picture of that as well.

I bet you are saying to yourself, ”Ok it’s a hot dog with fries on top, what’s the big deal?” All I can say to that  is you won’t understand unless you’ve been there.

My love of “The Nachos”

*First off I would like to say I’m sorry to anyone on a diet. This is a great example of the things you should not eat.*

 

 

 

 

 

 

I love Nachos. I looked forward going to my daughters softball games this summer, not only to watch her play but to eat Nachos. It really hits the spot at around 10am after drinking several cups of coffee. I think it is a really good exscuse to eat something so unhealthy in the morning. I can eat Nachos anytime of the day. The quickest way to my heart? Buy me some Nachos.

What do you like on your Nachos?

Lots of cheese, beef, refried beans, sour cream, guacamole or maybe chilli.  What about jalapenos?

I think the art of making a Nacho has been  lost. Let’s get creative. Enjoy a Nacho today.

I love Pizza.

 

I love food. That is not a secret to anyone who knows me. Right now I am sitting by the computer in my robe, eating pizza. Did I mention this pizza is horrible? A frozen Digiorno sausage pizza is not very good. I have my local pizza places that I enjoy but I they are very expensive. Not to long ago I tried Giordanos pizza for the first time and that was awesome. I always thought a really thick cheese filled pizza would be gross and very greasy but it wasn’t. I love pizza so much that I choose it over steak sometimes.

I reacently turned 29 and I am starting to wonder when all these bad things that I eat are going to catch up with me. Until then bring the good food to my belly.
